Dubai must be one of the very few places where you can mix the most extraordinary levels of extremes. In a matter of mere hours you can take in the vast expanses of the Arabian desert or the soaring steel towers, shop at age-old souks or at huge sophisticated shopping malls, take part in international water sports or enjoy a drive through rugged mountain villages. The speed of development is breathtaking. The ‘money is no object’ approach so common to Dubai is very much in evidence in the hotels. Whether they are the newer high rise towers or the earlier low-rise buildings located along the beach front all are of a very high standard with innovative architectural designs, great facilities and masses of restaurants. Dubai is a city destination with the buzz and excitement that cities offer but with the addition of long white sandy beaches and desert experiences.
