Hideaways to Malaysia

With its hyper-modern cities, primary unspoiled rainforest and stunning beaches Malaysia is a land of fascinating experiences.

For many visitors to Malaysia its stunning coast line is its major draw with superb beaches backed by virgin jungle. Unlike most European countries it also has the added advantage of having huge beaches with very few people on them! It is also a rather more ‘undiscovered’ country then its popular neighbour, Thailand. The hotels offer a very high standard of luxury, the service is exceptional and the Malaysian people are incredibly friendly and welcoming. To top this of, as long as you are a fan of Asian food, the food is delectable. For the more active a stay on the beach can be combined with a visit inland to the Cameron Highlands or for those searching for retail therapy there can be no better destination than Singapore. Singapore is just an hour’s flight from Malaysia and a great destination for a two or three night stay.

The Fullerton
Singapore
For anyone wanting to experience this fantastic city the Fullerton is the ideal base. Formally the Post Office this grand edifice is one of the most beautiful buildings in the city. Dwarfed by the modern skyscrapers this architectural delight is one of the few remnants of Singapore’s colonial past and all within 20 minutes of the airport.

The Andaman
Langkawi
Set on a stunning beach, backed by virgin rainforest this fantastic hotel makes for a wonderful honeymoon. The rooms are all located in one main building over three floors but it is cleverly built into the natural habitat and surround by jungle so that you don’t really notice a large building. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated in a fairly modern, fresh style with views either over the stunning Andaman Sea or into the rainforest.

The Four Seasons
Langkawi
One of the few hotels in Langkawi where you can stay in a freestanding villa right on the beach front. The stylish Four Seasons has a strong Moorish influence in its design but with Malay style also evident. The pavilions are scattered throughout the beautiful landscaped gardens, while the villas are right on the beach front. It also has one of the widest, longest and whitest beaches in Malaysia!

Tanjong Jara Resort
East Coast
The East coast of Malaysia has a distinct climate which differs from west coast. On the East coast November to February should be avoided as the sea can get very rough at times. Oddly enough there is only really one option worth staying at on the East coast and that is Tanjong Jara – the sister hotel of Pangkor Laut. Delicious food and a wonderful beach make this a lovely option for a holiday in Malaysia

Pangkor Laut
West Coast
Conde Naste once voted this the best resort in the world and they weren’t far off it. A private island with one of the most beautiful beaches in the world (we can vouch for this), five restaurants all servicing delicious food and incredibly helpful staff – you can’t really ask for more. It takes a bit of dedication to get here as the best option is a 4 hour drive from Kuala Lumpar and then a 45 minute ferry ride to the island but it is worth it once you arrive.
